San Juan, Puerto Rico – The Young Republican National Federation awarded the Texas Young Republican Federation the coveted “Federation of the Year” award at the national convention’s Saturday evening “Tropical Gala” in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Kristy Moore, Chair of the Texas Young Republican Federation, states, “This makes Texas’ 4th “Federation of the Year” Award and each time we are honored with this award from the National Federation it is very exciting and validating; Texas Young Republicans are committed to the conservative cause. An award such as this is an exclamation point on the dedication, service, and leadership of our members throughout our state and nation. I am so very proud of our members and to serve as Chair of this organization.”
During the convention gala, Texas received two additional awards: Large Club of the Year and Small Club of the Year. The Dallas County Young Republicans were recipients of “Large Club of the Year.” Mark Brown, DCYR Club President, remarks, “Our club is ecstatic! What an incredible honor for our club to be recognized nationwide for leading in programming, activities, membership, candidate support, members holding elected office, and overall contribution to the Republican party.”
The Montgomery County Young Republicans received the Small Club of the Year Award. Brian Dawson, MCYR Club President, states, “This is amazing! I am so proud of our club. Just last year at our state Young Republican convention in Tyler our club received the awards for New Club of the Year and Club of the Year; and now almost a year later to receive the national honor of YRNF Small Club of the Year – truly amazing! I am so appreciative of the service and dedication of our members and the support we have from our elected officials.”
“Texas is known as a contender for YRNF Federation of the Year, but this year was extra special at the national convention – it was a Texas sweep! I knew for every award given to us, TYRF displayed tremendous service and leadership,” remarks Moore.” This truly has been a great year for the Texas Young Republican Federation and I would be remiss not to thank the Republican Party of Texas, the SREC, our local County Chairs and Executive Committees, and elected officials who have so graciously encouraged and supported the objectives and endeavors of TYRF this year. We are excited about 2012!”
